NOW THAT YOU'VE MATRICULATED (I)

Hey fresher, congratulations on being among the fortunate sperms that were made to fertilize the much sought after ovum of KNUST this year.

Nevertheless, matriculation (admission) is just one step on your way to nurturing that dream of yours (the degree)

So what do you have to do next?

1. Aim High

The only limit to your stay on campus and what you can derive out of your stay, is the extent to which you allow your aims to go.

According to Michelangelo, ”the greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aims too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark”

Coming to the University is a fulfilling experience, but that’s just a one-off situation as compared to the tasks you will have to indulge in to get a fulfilling output. Know that, so far as you were able to pass the arduous admission requirements, you cannot settle for less. So why must you aim high?

• This is because you are not growing any younger

• It is useless to settle for the bland sky whilst you can get the sun in all of its glory.

2. Set Goals

Goal setting is key if you are to move forward in life. Goals are the units in which you measure your success. Without those, your achievements become meaningless because they then do not have a standard for determining their worth.

Your goals should define the personality you want to portray after you have spent four good years of your lifetime on KNUST campus. They must be specific, attainable, measurable and realistic and last but not least time-bound. Goal setting helps in seeing the target and how close you are to it as days become months and semesters become years.
